Maryland Maple Grove Wildlife Sanctuary project entails a total of 15 acres. On this property there is a 4.2 Acre field which has been planted with trees to act as a buffer zone between the toxic agricultural waste runoff from the adjoining farmlands and this precious Maryland non-tidal wetland.

There are about 2 acres of wetlands and dozens of springs. These very springs spout forth thousands of gallons of water. Water that Marylander citizens drink. Water that goes into the Maryland Prettyboy drinking water reserve.

There were over a thousand new baby hardwood trees planted by the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) in order to help control the toxic runoff. Under the CREP Program, exactly 1,140 trees have been planted at the Maple Grove Wildlife Sanctuary.

Please help us protect this fragile habitat!

Join us in our efforts to save the endangered bog turtle and protect the trout in the stream.

Bog turtles have been officially recorded by the DNR here, in this wetland.

And this water from the earth at the Maple Grove Wildlife Sanctuary is the drinking water for American citizens!
