• Conduct local studies to stop further habitat loss
• Establishing projects for the restoration and protection of habitats
• Enforcing laws and regulations

How you can help

• Support local studies and encourage the Maryland Department of Natural Resources be more proactive
• Contact local officials to support protective laws for wetlands
• Encourage landowners you know with wetlands to protect them
• Support local fundraising and educational programs concerning wetlands and engendered species
• Check off line 63 on your state income tax form and donate money to the following:
  • Endangered Species Fund
  • Chesapeake Bay Fund
• Become a bog turtle habitat “watchdog” and report any illegal collection or wetland destruction in your area
